El mundo de la tecnología ha reaccionado al únisono ante la muerte de Steve Jobs, coincidiendo en describirle como un «visionario» cuyo legado será la referencia del desarrollo tecnológico de las próximas generaciones
Mark Zuckerberg, ha definido a Jobs como su «mentor». «Steve, gracias por mostrar que lo que haces puede cambiar el mundo. Te echaré de menos amigo». Dick Costolo, escribía: «Una vez cada mucho tiempo alguien llega y no sólo aumenta las expectativas, cambia completamente los criterios». Arthur Sulzberger del NYTimes, ha alabado la idea de interactuación con los usuarios impulsada por Jobs. «Hemos perdido a uno de los pensadores, creadores y empresarios más influyentes de todos los tiempos. Era simplemente el presidente ejecutivo más grande de su generación», ha afirmado el magnate australiano Rupert Murdoch. Bob Iger, se ha mostrado seguro de que el legado del confundador de Apple «se extenderá más allá de los productos que inventó o de los negocios a los que dio vida».
